A gloriously chunky silver double raven ring set with a stunning star diopside, which shows an amazing star effect in sunlight. Entirely handmade from thick sterling silver, this ring has a deeply textured surface which is reminiscent of a dark stormy sky. Soaring either side is a stunning polished raven - each one is meticulously cut by hand. The silver has been oxidised, polished and waxed with a crystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that will lighten with wear.

Material - thick sterling silver Width - approximately 12 mm wide Gemstone - approximately 8 mm star diopside - please note that this is a natural material and has inclusions and surface imperfections which are part of it's inherent natural construction. Finish - oxidised, polished and waxed Size - to fit UK size O Compared to other types of star gemstone, star diopside has a very unique asterism, or star effect, because it only exhibits four rays whilst most star gemstones feature six-ray asterism. The needle-like Magnetite inclusions which are responsible Star Diopside's asterism are often so heavily included within the stone that they can be easily attracted to magnetic forces, since magnetite is the most magnetic mineral on Earth. Being able to carry such strong magnetism makes star diopside popular for therapeutic use, particularly in crystal healing. Star diopside is thought to re-energise the body, the soul and the mind. Its strong magnetic force is believed to aid physical healing and is said to be most efficient when held close against the skin of the injured area. It is also believed to help bring creativity to its wearer. Star diopside is also known as the Black Star of India, and has a hardness of 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale.
