'Corvid's Call' OOAK Sterling Silver Raven, Labradorite and Blue Moonstone

This silver raven necklace is a real statement piece and uniquely one-of-a-kind. The 'calling' raven has been meticulously hand cut from two layers of sterling silver and soldered onto a hand cut sterling silver base. He sits atop a dark labradorite gemstone and behind him shines a blue moonstone moon. His thick sterling silver chain has been set with meticulously hand-wrapped labradorite and blue moonstone beads and is finished with a handmade clasp. The pendant is encircled by an organic, hand formed undulating and spiralling wire detail. The silver has been oxidised and the details highlighted and is then waxed with a microcrystalline wax to help protect the oxidised surface. Oxidisation is a surface treatment that can lighten with wear. As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is handmade and soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost. Comes gift boxed.

According to Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. A wandering Eskimo warrior found them and freed most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear, but some remained trapped inside the stone. It's these trapped lights which give Labradorite it's gorgeous colour and light.
Traditionally, Labradorite is thought to bring good luck and dispel negativity.
