OOAK Sterling Silver, Opal and Sapphire Shri ElephantAn amazing pendant which has been a long time in the making but I think he's been worth it. Entirely handmade and measuring approximately 80 mm x 63 mm and weighing over 45 grammes, he is truly a one-of-a-kind.
His highly decorated body is set with a large heart-shaped mosaic triplet opal which has the most amazing colours - glittering reds, blues and greens. He also features two 4 mm white opal gemstones and has a 3 mm blue sapphire eye. Resplendent in his opal and sapphire finery, he is sure to be a talking point. He hangs from an approximately 16 " chain which has been entirely handmade. His chain is constructed from 14 silver beads, 8 blue sapphire beads, and 4 white sapphire beads, all of which have been individually and meticulously wire-wrapped by hand, using over 1600 mm of solid silver wire. The silver has been oxidised and brushed to highlight the decoration and waxed with a special wax to help protect the oxidised surface. As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost.
