Sterling Silver with Labradorite Necklace 

This stunning necklace is a real statement piece and a one-off design.
Each seahorse has been individually hand pierced and constructed from layers of sterling silver.
They are decorated with stylised and oxidised starfish and polished to a high shine. 
Beneath them hangs a stunning freeform labradorite gemstone, set in it's own unique handmade silver setting. This stone reflects the most amazing blue and gold when the light hits it at certain angles.
The chain features labradorite 'seaweed' beads and sterling silver beads, meticulously hand wrapped with thick sterling silver wire. The chain has been lightly oxidised and is finished with a handmade clasp.
As with all of my pieces, each and every jump ring is handmade and soldered closed to prevent any piece of the pendant coming apart or getting lost.

Seahorse size - each seahorse is approximately 33 mm x 27 mm each
Gemstone - freeform labradorite approximately 25 mm  x 18 mm oval amber

According to Eskimo legend, the Northern Lights were once imprisoned in the rocks along the coast of Labrador. 
A wandering Eskimo warrior found them and freed most of the lights with a mighty blow of his spear, but some remained trapped inside the stone. 
It's these trapped lights which give Labradorite it's gorgeous colour and light.

Traditionally, Labradorite is thought to bring good luck and dispel negativity.
